We know our responsibility extends well beyond producing safe, quality food, and requires us to take accountability for our impact on the planet and the communities in which we operate. We have always been driven to improve with each step we take, to work together to achieve our goals, and this is true in our approach to sustainability.
Our sustainability strategy, ‘Sustainably stronger together’ demonstrates our commitment to help address some of the most pressing challenges that face the Australian dairy industry. Our immediate focus areas were informed through a materiality assessment to understand the environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues most important to key internal and external stakeholders. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far, but know we have a lot more to do and we look forward to expanding our efforts and sharing our journey along the way.
As part of our sustainability strategy, we’re proud to have set some ambitious targets.
- By setting a mitigation pathway, we will achieve a 50% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2028 and have plans for Scope 3 emissions
- Achieve zero food waste to landfill in manufacturing operations by 2030
- Reinvest $1M every year into existing and new regional development programs that benefit the communities we operate in
- Bulla’s sustainability knowledge platform is open source by 2028
